Even though you may be a subscriber to my "Property Watch Alerts" service, although this is a great way to become acquainted with what types of homes are available and what you can expect to get for your money, it can never be a substitute for personal service.

Every week my daughter, Michelle, my wife Sylvia and I preview up to 60 homes for sale in The San Ramon Valley and Lamorinda. We don't see every new home that comes on the market but we do see a lot of them. And we certainly get to see most of the homes that are rather more than just "average". Because of this, when we work with you on a personal level, we can generally show you the best homes that will suit your needs very quickly. These are what we consider to be our "Silver Dollar" homes

What defines a Siver Dollar Home? Well it can mean different things to different people but the comon thread is that it will certainly have a number of very desirable characteristics. Look at the homes on this page for example. The home with the distinctive French style architecture at the head of this section would have a very good chance of being considered a Silver Dollar Home regardless of the interior, while others would be seslected based mainly on the standard of interior design,finish and construction.

Look at the European style painted kitchen above. Many people would definitely consider that to be the ultimate, while others would be drawn more to the modern Shaker style kitchen on the right. Regardless of which one you would prefer, I think few people would diagree with me when I say that both of these kitchen are far above the average. Both homes easily earned a place in my Siver Dollar Home category.

But maybe kitchens are not that important to you. Everybody does not like to cook. Maybe a luxurious bathroom would be the deciding feature that would define a home as a Silver Dollar Home to you. Perhaps a bathroom like the spacious master bath below in a Pleasanton home with extensive faux painting on the walls and high quality bathroom fixtures.

Or if you are not searching for a home with a luxury bathroom, perhaps you want to buy a home with the feel of a small estate with a stunning back yard oasis or a fabulous pool and spa like the one at the bottom of the page. Your personal Silver Dollar home may even be just a retreat from the stress of everyday life with comfortable, tastefully designed living areas, quality decorator items such as crown moldings and hardwood floors and a real wood burning fireplace to come home to. Rest assured that they will make our lists as well. Silver Dolar Homes are very personal. But there are common themes. Quality that is above average, individuality and good design are some of them. Note that there is no mention of home size. I have seen homes under 2,000 square feet that would certainly qualify and many larger homes that would fall far short.

As I said before, we preview a lot of homes for sale in the San Ramon Valley and Lamorinda. When we see one that we feel is a particularly desirable home for any of the reasons mentioned above and a few more besides, we take careful note of it, then when we start working with a buyer who is looking for a home in The San Ramon Valley or Lamorinda, the first thing we do is consider if any of our "Silver Dollar Homes" could be right for them.
